AI visibility tools, compared

Profound, Otterly, Peec, Semrush, Ahrefs and the rest measure how often AI names you. This is what each one does, what it costs, and where a measured service does something a dashboard cannot.

Last updated 6 September 2026. Prices are the published entry price at that date, taken from each vendor's stated pricing as collected in Zapier's 2026 roundup. Vendors change pricing often. Check before you buy.

What every tool on this list actually does

They all do a version of the same thing. You give them prompts, they run those prompts against answer engines on a schedule, and they report whether your brand appeared, who appeared instead, and what got cited. The differences are engine coverage, how much of it is behind a higher tier, and how good the reporting is.

That is genuinely useful. A number you can watch weekly beats an opinion. If your team will act on it, buy one.

Where a dashboard stops

Every tool here ends at the same place: here is your number, here is who beat you, here is what got cited. None of them get you into those sources. That is the part that takes a person, because it means judging honestly whether you belong on a given listicle, review site or forum thread, and then doing something about it.

The uncomfortable version: buying a monitoring tool and not acting on it produces a very well-documented record of losing.

Honest limits of this page

Askulia sells a competing thing, so read the table rather than the framing. The prices are the vendors' own published entry prices at the date above and they change. Engine coverage on the cheaper tiers is usually narrower than the marketing suggests, so check what is included before you commit annually. And every one of these tools, Askulia included, is measuring a moving target: the models change without notice and everyone's numbers move when they do.

Common questions

What is the best AI visibility tool?

It depends on what you need. If you want the widest engine coverage and enterprise reporting, Profound is the most complete. If you want the cheapest way to start tracking, Otterly.AI is the lowest entry price. If you already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs, their add-ons are the least friction. None of them do the work of getting you cited, which is a different job.

Do I need a tool or a service?

A tool tells you the number. A service changes it. If you have someone in-house who will act on the data every month, buy a tool. If nobody owns it and the dashboard will go unread, a tool is a subscription you will cancel in a quarter.

Is Askulia a tool?

No. Askulia is a measured service. You get the score, the competitor named instead of you, the sources being cited, and on the done-for-you track the work to change it. There is no dashboard to log into and no seat to buy.

Can I use a tool and Askulia together?

Yes, and several clients do. The tool gives daily telemetry, the engagement decides what to do about it. If you already have a tool, say so and we will read your data instead of duplicating it.
